Benedict Wells biography

Benedict Wells was born on February 29, 1984 in Munich. Wells began writing his first stories at the age of seven. He spent his entire school career at various Bavarian boarding schools. 

In 2003, he moved to Berlin after graduating from high school. There he decided against studying and began writing instead. He earned his living with various part-time jobs. Bt the age of 24, he published his first novel "Beck's last summer"which was a great success.

  1. "Beck's last summer": Beck doesn't have an enviable life, but when he discovers the incredible musical talent Rauli Kantas from Lithuania in his class, he decides to give it his all again as the enigmatic boy's manager. But he has no idea what challenges await him. The book was made into a movie in 2015.

     

  2. "Spinner": This novel is a mixture of tragedy and comedy and tells the story of friendship, the struggle to realize dreams and the fear of making the wrong decisions.

     

  3. "Almost genius": It is an incredible but true story about a boy from a trailer park who discovers that his father is a genius whom he has never met. He sets out to find him and has the greatest adventure of his life.

     

  4. "The end of loneliness": Jules and his siblings experience a fateful loss as children when their parents are killed in an accident. Years later, they are forced to confront the past again as they try to come to terms with their lives. A moving novel about grief, loss and the unshakeable strength of family, as well as a deeply touching love story that was published in 2016 and became an international bestseller.

     

  5. "Hard Land": In 1985, fifteen-year-old Sam takes a summer job in an old movie theater to escape his problems at home. But what begins as a magical summer full of friends, love and discoveries is shattered by an event that forces him to grow up.
