The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our websites or use our platform teech use.

2 Purpose of the processing

We process your data in order to operate the websites and to be able to offer the services contained therein.

3 Type of data processed when visiting our websites

We process your personal data when you visit our websites. The data processing described in this section 3 applies exclusively to visits to our websites and not to the use of teech. We describe the data processing for the use of teech under point 4.

3.1 Processing technical data

When you visit our websites, we process the following technical data (so-called "server log files") from you in order to be able to operate the websites:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Date and time of the server request
  • IP address

3.2 When making contact

We use certain applications to make it easier for you to contact us.

You have the option of contacting us directly using the implemented chat tools. We use the applications "HubSpot" from HubSpot, Inc. and "WhatsApp Web" from WhatsApp LLC for this purpose. When using one of the chat tools, we process the messages you enter there to clarify your request.

If you use our contact form, we process the data requested there to enable us to contact you and provide you with feedback. This data includes

  • Your personal data (surname, first name)
  • Role in the application teech
  • The information as to whether access for teech exists
  • Your contact details (e-mail address, telephone number)
  • The message you have entered

3.3 Information on cookies

We use cookies on our websites. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. They serve to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure.

In order to adequately advertise our services, we use various applications on our website. All the applications listed here can also be found in our cookie policy.

  • Newsletter
    You can subscribe to a newsletter on our website and platform. The newsletter informs you about teech, further developments, events and, if applicable, articles about us and education in general. We do not pass on the data you provide when you subscribe to the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. To do so, use the corresponding link in the newsletter.
    We record on a pseudonymous and statistical basis which newsletters were read at what time and with what frequency.
    Data processing for the newsletter is carried out in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR on the basis of your consent. You can revoke this consent at any time for the future. To do so, click the unsubscribe link in the newsletter or contact teech Education GmbH by other means.

  • YouTube
    Our website uses plugins from YouTube to integrate and display video content. The provider of the video portal is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When a page with an integrated YouTube plugin is accessed, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells YouTube which of our pages you have visited. YouTube can assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile if you are logged into your YouTube account. You can prevent this by logging out beforehand. YouTube is used for an appealing presentation of our online offers.

  • Google Analytics & Google Maps
    Our website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider of the web analysis service is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics enables website usage to be analyzed. The information generated about your use of our website is transmitted to a Google server and stored there. The server location is usually the USA. We use the knowledge gained from this analysis to tailor the design of our website to your needs.

    We use Google Analytics in conjunction with the IP anonymization function. It ensures that Google truncates your IP address within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmitting it to the USA. There may be exceptional cases in which Google transmits the full IP address to a server in the USA and truncates it there. Google will use this information on our behalf for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

    We use Google Maps to display maps.

  • Facebook
    We use Facebook to display the latest social posts and/or social share buttons.

3.5 Security of the website

We secure our site using SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

We only process your data to the extent necessary to provide our services. Fully automated decision-making (Article 22 GDPR) does not take place.

3.6 Design of the website

To protect our website from malicious requests, we sometimes use designs from "Google Fonts" from Google LLC to display the "ReCaptcha" texts on our website. With the help of this integration, we are able to access web-optimized fonts from external servers. This tells the server which of our web pages you have visited. The IP address of the browser, the end device and the visitor to this website is also stored by Google. No cookies are collected. The use of this tool is in our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) as we want to reduce loading times and optimize your visit to our website.

4 Type of data processed when using teech

If you teech we process your personal data for this purpose as described below. If you use teech, we act as a processor. Accordingly, data processing is carried out exclusively in accordance with instructions and in accordance with the contract for order processing, which you as the customer of teech with us. Data processing by us also takes place in accordance with the principles regulated in the contract for order processing if you are only a user of teech are. We process the following data when you use teech:

4.1 School administrators

In the role of school administrator, you have the option of managing your school's account (e.g. creating teachers and students, managing timetables). We process the data and information required for this:

  • Your selected access data (user name; password)
  • Your name and the organization you manage
  • Your contact details (e-mail address)

We also process the data and information you enter on the platform about the teachers, students and timetables you have created. This includes, for example, names, e-mail addresses, classes and subjects.

4.2 Teachers

In your role as a teacher, you have the opportunity to teach about teech to organize and manage our business. We process the data and information required for this purpose:

  • Your selected access data (user name; password)
  • Your name and the organization to which you belong
  • Your contact details (e-mail address)
  • The data and information entered during distance learning, including the virtual blackboard or the messages
  • If activated, the video recordings made during distance learning in the case of a video conference

4.3 Pupils

As a student, you have the opportunity to take part in distance learning via teech and view the timetable. We process the data and information required for this:

  • The selected access data (user name; password)
  • The name and the school
  • The contact details (e-mail address)
  • The data and information entered during distance learning, including the virtual blackboard or the messages
  • If activated, the video recordings made during distance learning in the case of a video conference

4.4 Data processing in the event of support

If you make use of our support, we will open so-called "tickets" for your cases. To process these tickets, we use the "HubSpot" tool from HubSpot, Inc. The data and information in the tickets essentially remain in Germany. For the purposes of availability and security, the information is also transferred to the servers of HubSpot, Inc. in the USA. This takes place exclusively within the framework of the order processing contract that your school concludes with us.

4.5 Security of the platform

We secure teech by means of SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

We process your data only to the extent necessary to provide our services.

Fully automated decision-making (Article 22 GDPR) does not take place.

5 categories of recipients

5.1 Operation of the website

We work with certain service providers to ensure the operation of our websites and the data processing described in section 3.

In certain cases, the data is also processed by the service providers outside the EU/EEA (e.g. in the USA). This is done exclusively in accordance with the necessary technical and organizational security measures. All service providers mentioned act as processors for us. Under no circumstances do we pass the data on to unauthorized third parties and we do not sell your data.

5.2 Operation of teech

For the operation of teech we work together with an external computer center within the framework of order processing. The data when using teech remain exclusively in Germany. Under no circumstances do we pass the data on to unauthorized third parties.

If you make use of our support, we use the "HubSpot" tool from HubSpot, Inc. for this purpose (see section 4.4).

6 Legal basis and duration of data processing

We process your data to protect our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our legitimate interest here is the operation of our websites and the provision of the services contained therein.

Data processing in the context of the use of teech is carried out to fulfill our contractual obligation (Art. 6 para. 1 letter b GDPR).

We also process your data to fulfill legal obligations (Article 6 (1) (c) GDPR). These legal obligations are, for example, retention and documentation obligations.

We store your data as long as it is necessary for the fulfillment of contractual obligations or legal obligations.

If data processing is no longer necessary, we will delete your data. We will not erase your data if the - temporary - data processing is still necessary. In this case, we process your data to a limited extent. This may be the case for the following purposes:

  • Fulfillment of retention obligations under commercial and tax law: These include the German Commercial Code (HGB), the German Fiscal Code (AO), the German Banking Act (KWG) and the German Money Laundering Act (GwG). The retention and documentation periods specified there are two to ten years.
  • Preservation of evidence within the framework of the statutory limitation periods. According to Sections 195 et seq. of the German Civil Code (BGB), these limitation periods can be up to 30 years, whereby the regular limitation period is 3 years.

7 Your data protection rights

You have the following rights with regard to your personal data:

  • the Right to information in accordance with Article 15 GDPR,
  • the Right to rectification in accordance with Article 16 GDPR,
  • the Right to erasure in accordance with Article 17 GDPR,
  • the Right to restriction of processing in accordance with Article 18 GDPR and
  • the Right to data portability in accordance with Article 20 GDPR.

The restrictions under Sections 34 and 35 BDSG apply to the right to information and the right to erasure.

In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR, Section 40 BDSG). If the processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you can revoke this consent at any time for the future.

You can send your revocation to datenschutz@teech.de to direct. Processing that took place before your revocation is not affected by this.

You can arrange for the deletion/blocking and correction of your personal data as well as the provision of information about this data at the contact address of our data protection officer (see no. 1).
